Introduction

New Nepal Environment Protection Forum (NEFUM) was established in Jun16, 2009 with the purpose to work about the Health and Sanitation (HS), Women’s Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) and Climate Change (CC), Environment Protection (EP), Garbage Management (GM), Support for Livelihood Opportunity (SLP), Renewal Energy (RE), Research, Capacity Building, Advocacy for the Organic Farming and Environment Protection and Health and Nutrition Education (HNE). In the mean time, NEFUM has been focusing to make eco-friendly communities as the pollution free villages, violence free village, sustainable agriculture through organic farming, end food crisis and reduce health hazards with the help of series of capacity building training, awareness raising campaign, meeting, interaction, workshop, orientation and advocacy campaign.

NEFUM deeply focus for gender equality, building women’s leadership and decision making process at their family as well as society through the health, education and entrepreneurship development program. Till this date, NEFUM is taking a steps for selecting vulnerable community, conducting capacity building training by focusing eco-friendly village and pollution free society, encouraging women to use safety technique during climate change and disaster to be safe from gender based violence (GBV), sexual abuse and unwanted pregnancy. But not limited to this, NEFUM has been providing psycho-social counseling service and legal counseling to GBV survivors, LGBTs, Female Sex Workers (FSWs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts. For this, NEFUM has been doing advocacy, awareness raising workshop and education program with her women groups, young girls, community people, stakeholders, teachers and students.

The main policy of NEFUM is to mobilize local resources and CSR, partnering with Government of Nepal, National and International NGOs and the private organization to empower the underprivileged community, farmers, women and girls. Similarly, NEFUM pays full efforts in mobilizing local resources as far as possible to make a difference community through women’s empowerment and leadership development program.
